Brycen and Daddy Hit the Slopes

Brycen went skiing for his first time on Friday. He was a little unsure at first, but by the end of the day he knew how to turn, stop, snowplow, and ride the magic carpet (a moving walkway that carries the kids up the hill).
It was the first time Brycen's dad (me) had been skiing for a long, long time. I was very sore by the end of the day. But had a great time and saw an amazing view of Lake Tahoe from the summit of the mountain. I got a great photo of it but forgot to zip my pocket shut and lost my camera somewhere on the mountain. Though I spent the second half of the day looking for the camera, it was nowhere to be found. I am sure some woodland creature will find joy it taking pictues of his family with it.

Brycen came home exhausted but ready
to go skiing again. Look for him in
the Winer Olmypics 2022!

New Church Clothes

Zac suddenly out grew all of his church
clothes--so I did a little shopping.
Doesn't he look sharp in his new threads?
When did he get all those Freckles!

Scottie got a new Sports jacket too and
inherited Zac old pants. He is one handsome
little man!

As you can see Brcyen feels very comfortable
in his Perry Ellis suit. I guess he will have to grow
into his new tie though. Brycen always looks so
confident like he is ready to take on the world!

Brycen gave his first talk in Primary today--he
was suppose to give a talk last month, but that
was when he had pneumonia. I told him to pick his
favorite story out of our animated Book of Mormon
and he pick when Alma and Amulek meet. I asked
him why he like that story and he said he like it
because Amulek became a missionaries. So here is his talk:

I like the story of Alma and Amulek. Amulek had
a lot of faith. When an angel told him he would feed
a Holy man Amulek listened. Because he listened
he met Alma. Alma and Amulek became missionaries.
I want to go on a mission someday too, so I have to
have faith just like Amulek.

It was very cute because the microphone was broken
so I told him he would have to talk loud--and he did!
His was the only talk anyone could actually hear. I of
course got a little teary, but so did two members of the
Primary Presidency, and Nana.

Lance entertaining Brycen and Zac with a story while
I am trying to get some pictures of Scottie.

Our Little Train Engineer

Last weekend, we took Brycen and Zac to a train show in Sacramento. There were dozens of booths showing all the latest and great in the world of model trains. The boys even got to be "Junior Engineers" and control a train. We also got to see a volcano erupt. Nana and Papa went with us, but Papa was so busy shopping for himself that he never slowed down long enough to be in a picture. It is really cute to see both Papa and Brycen get so excited about trains. Of course, Papa's collection is much larger, but for a four year old Brycen has quite the set-up!

The BIG Storm

We are staying nice and warm and dry in our house today. The yard is having a little more trouble coping with the storm though. Still, we are doing better than my sister who has an entire tree in her pool right now. As for Lance the Levee man, he is going to check out the Levees tommarow to see how they are holding up--it does not sound like fun to me! Brycen and Zac think it is fun to throw papers outside to watch them blow away; I think I have now convinced them that this is not a good game. Lastly, yesterday I saved our umbrella from blowing over our fence and into the traffic on East Natoma--that would have been bad! By the way, the picture of the fence is not blurry that is just the rain coming down.

Scottie Says More!

After seven long years Scottie has decided it is time to start communicating, and we are just thrilled! Scottie can now sign the word "more" and does so eagerly at every meal. He will also point to himself when asked if he wants a drink. He is enjoying the therapy ball he got for Christmas. He has even figured out how to push it to a doorway and climb on to bounce while holding on to the door jam. I am calling it our belated Christmas miracle. Go Scott Go!
