This is the rough draft of a slideshow we are working on for our adoption fireside that we are having in a few weeks. Just to give friends ideas of how they can help us find a birthmother. We have decided we need people to really talk to everyone they can. Just yesterday my mom found out that a really sweet girl that works with my grandma at the rest home just aborted a set of twins. When she told my mom, my mom said "Oh Amber, Kim and Lance have been hoping to adopt twins." Amber then got very emotional and said "You mean I could have seen my babies" I have just been devasted. I can't believe how many tears I have shed for these sweet little spirits that I will never know, but still some how feel very connected to. It is like losing our IVF set of twins all over again. Please tell everyone you know about us. Let them know that we a approved to adopt and would love any baby and that we would love to have an open adoption. I really would hate to relive what happened yesterday.

Happy Easter

The Easter Bunny came to our house a day early so we could get to my parents 9am ward on Easter and also because Brycen found the bunny toys in the garage. But I made up a lie and made it up quick so he still believes. I'm not sure if that is actually a good thing though.

I thought my ice cream cups would be perfect for egg coloring, but the eggs got stuck at the bottom. Still we all had fun even flat Stanley.

Scottie basking in the sun.

Hop like a bunny!

Watching Shrek with Uncle Jason

Just like a model

Checking out the loot

Brycen is even cute from behind.

Lots of cousin love.

Daddy and Zac head down to fish in the pond.

Our Trail To Oregon
We decided to head up to Oregon for a mini-spring break vacation. We visited our friends the Idiarts who we had not seen in about seven years. The Idiarts are a wonderful family that I grew-up with. When Lance and I were first married and living in the Bay Area we attended the same ward I grew-up in. Damain and Sarah also lived there as a young married couple, so Lance knows them too. We had an absolutely wonderful time it was great to see the whole Idiart clan which now includes: Grandma and Grandpa, Damian and Sarah and their 5 children, Justin and Tiffany and their 3 children, Jared and Christina and their two children, and Allison and Aaron and their two children.
Our plan was to leave for Oregon when Lance got out of work on Friday. The forecast said it would be snowing through all the passes and carrying chains was recommended. We decided that we did not want to have to cross through snowing passes during the night, so we booked a hotel room at Mt Shasta. The drive was wonderful, with plenty of sunshine and not a bit of snow, still since it was too late to cancel our reservation, we stopped for the night and had a great time swimming in the indoor pool until 10pm. (sorry no swimming pictures, it was to steamy and I couldn't keep my lens clean.) The next morning we woke up to snow. Okay so it was no Utah storm or anything but the kids thought it was great. Lance and I just laughed as we drove through the snowy passes that would have been perfectly clear the night before. We were very glad we did not need our chains that were sitting in our garage still waiting for us to pack them.

Brycen absolutely loved Sarah and Damian's son Josh was is nine years old. The two of them were always together. On Monday Brycen was very disappointed to find out Josh had left for school. We were going to head home that morning, but later decided to wait until after the kids got home. Brycen was thrilled to see his buddy again. When we left Brycen wrapped his arms and legs around Josh and just held on as long as he could. Thank you Josh for being so sweet to Brycen!
It was a lot of fun to be part of a big family. It really made made yearn for more children of my own. I want to sit and watch my 10+ grandchildren play one day!

Zac was very sweet to all the little ones. He helped Mary find a dolly so that she would stop crying.
We went to a very cute kids discovery place on our last day in Oregon. Everyone had lots of fun.
Zac learning about the digestive track.
That will be $555,555 please.
Benjamin and Brycen loved sending tons of balls through the vacuum tube that went along the ceiling and then emptied into a large bucket at the end.
Surprise Surprise Scott found a cozy napping spot.
Sarah and I enjoyed neatly organizing all the jumbo sized legos. Of course our beautiful stacks of color coded blocks were no match for the destructive powers of Brycen and Benjamin.

Little mister I hate people in costumes sure loved dressing up as a dragon. We all ran away frightened!

Rise and Shout the Cougars are Out!

We took the kids out to the ball game. The BYU baseball team beat UC Davis today. Although you can't tell from this picture, the visitors cheering section had more people in it than the Davis side. It is nice to be in good company when you're cheering for the wrong team.
Zac hung out with Pappa for most of the game. He really enjoyed the game once he was sure Cosmo had not traveled with the team. We sat right behind home plate, and Zac kept cheering on the batters the whole game. I'm sure the players like hearing him call out their names. I especially like it when he told one player to "Rip one!" He is a funny guy.
Brycen, the sensitive blue eyed boy did not like the sun in his eyes. Lance's hat seemed to do the trick.
Zac also enjoyed the snack bar as is evident by the food on his face.

You would think Pappa and Brycen had played baseball all day! Pappa offered $1 to whoever fell asleep first. Brycen immediately replied, "I'm already sleeping!"

Bye-bye Pluto
Today while I was working at Zacs school's book fair I bought a little book about the planets. Zac has been interested in the solar system for a while, and I can never remember the order of the planets so this little book was just perfect. After I bought it I realized that the book excluded Pluto. We hadn't told Zac yet that Pluto had been demoted, I guess I have a bit of a hard time with it. I mean I understand the claim from a scientific point of view, but what about tradition! Shouldn't their be some sort of grandfather clause for planets? Besides I think the scientists are kind of picking on Pluto--so what that it does not "dominate it's neighborhood" Is it so wrong to be a little on the passive side? And it keeps an "untidy orbit"--is any one's house always clean?
But I digress, I knew I would have to break the news to Zac, but at least Brycen could just learn the new way and not have to "suffer" from the loss of Pluto--Wrong. I showed Brycen the book on the way home from preschool. He flip through the pages and then said, "but Mom what about Pluto they left Pluto out." His intelligence can be a little frighting at times! So I began to explain that because scientist now have really powerful telescopes they have learned that Pluto does not meet all the characteristics that planets are suppose to have. Brycen had many more questions. He also decided that he would draw a picture of Pluto and glue it in the book. Finally he said "Mom I think Pluto is dead!"
When we picked Zac up from school today, Brycen handed him the planet book and informed him that it did not have Pluto in it because the scientists' used their telescope and found out that Pluto doesn't have everything it needs to be a planet. To which Zac responded "Oh." Moments like this really make parenthood a priceless experience.

Our Week in Review
The highlight of the weekend was Jonas' 8th birthday
party. Lance actually took Brycen and Zac and I
stayed home with Scott. Somehow after Zac and
Brycen got over the flu, Scottie and I got colds.
Anyway, the party was a Laser Tag party. Brycen
was too young to play laser tag, but he and Hannah kept
busy with all the arcade games.
Jonas is growing up to be a really incredible kid. When
Zac got home he told me that another boy said, pointing
to Zac, "He can't be on our team!" Jonas right away said
"Yes he can, he's my cousin." Jonas has always been
wonderful with Zac and I know he will always look out
for his cousin. Thanks a lot Jonas and happy birthday!

Brycen was thrilled to find a real air hockey table--
just like his virtual one in Webkinz land.

Who wants cake?

I love the look of determination!

Tonight we played dominoes with the boys, just
matching the numbers with out any real rules.
Afterwards we had lots of fun setting them up and
knocking them over. Brycen could have keep going
all night.

Scottie loves bath time--especially when there
are lots of bubbles. As soon as he hears the water
flowing in the tub, he tries to climb in.
