Step1: About a week before the real birthday, add one Grandma and one Grandpa and one wii birthday present.
Enjoy a game of baseball,

Or just rock out.

Of course the rest of the family will want to help with this step too.
Go Zac!

I actually have a sore thumb from strumming so much!

And, Lance has become quite the wii Tennis pro.

Even Nana is getting in on the action.

While everyone is marinating in wii fun, the days until Brycen's real birthday fly by.
step 2: Birthday day
Combine one eager birthday boy with a handful of presents and watch how quickly he can get ready for school.

step 3:
Stir in the new geo trax gifts with the collection you started on your second birthday for hours of rails and sky fun.

Brycen on his second birthday, he is holding his new train remote in his hand. The same remote Alex is holding in the picture above.
step 4:
Add one fun Auntie who comes to take you out to dinner for your birthday at 7:00pm--so much for that 7:30 bedtime! And of course she too comes bearing trains!

step 5:
Combine with a best friend who's birthday is just a day after yours, and who is also a trainyac and have a great party with a real working train, miles of track, and a friendly family of deer who watch you pass by on the train.
Brycen and Joshua, best friends and fellow train engineers.

Brycen's other best friend, Dominic
Four out of the six boys in Brycen's class (that are five girls too, but this was a no girls allowed party!)
Building a model with Daddy. I guess he can see with his hat on, but I don't know how.
Scottie kickin' back on the grass.
Every child left with a full bag of candy--can you say sugar high!

Frosting face!

Every child left with a full bag of candy--can you say sugar high!step 6:
Mix in a mom who is creative enough and brave enough to whip up a Lego cake.

Frosting face!
step 7:
Finally, return life to a simmer by going home opening more presents, playing, and then going to bed completely happy and entirely exhausted!
Happy Birthday Brycen. You are such a big boy where did my baby go?

What a fun birthday party. You guys really did go all out. You'll have a lot to live up to next year. I love his hair in that picture when he was 2. I never realized how curly it was.

Looks like a lot of work for Kim (Lego cake, friends at party) but worth it. Hope the Wii guitar survives a few years until Brycen's hands are big enough to play it.
October is always such a buzy month for you. We really enjoyed our time with you and the kids. I'm glad we had our own time with them. It was more fun to talk and play with them without all the other distractions. You'll have to have a permanent train room soon. Happy Birthday to Zac. Just one more birthday to go. Miss all of you. Thanks for such a good time.
what a fun post, love the train cake, man. .. that kid is so gorgeous. In a manly way. . .
