Pirate Ships, Carnivals, Foam Letter Mishaps, and the Election.

Brycen lately likes to turn our bed into a pirate ship. Of course he waits until the bed has been made and then very sweetly asks is he can mess it up to turn it into a pirate ship. What's a mom to do? It is important to let him develop his imagination after all.

These may look like common foam letters, but they are actually very costly. Just three of these letters cost $240! Well, okay, if your son, named Zac, tries to use them as target practice in the toilet and then flushes them down, it will cost $240 to have a plumber come remove the toilet, turn it upside down and shake the letters loose and then reinstall the toilet. Never a dull moment I tell you! (Just to let you know, those are not the actual letters that spent a week lodged in our toilet)

On a happier note, Brycen's school had a fun Spring Carnival this past Saturday. Zac with thrilled that cotton candy cost just one ticket. Brycen spent much of the time in the bounce house. I was hoping to score big during the raffle, but no such luck. I must admit there is a snobby little part of me that really enjoys going to elaborate private school parties. I guess what is really nice, is that no one is actually snobby at the school. They like us even though we don't drive BMW or Lexus!

Brycen and Zac both refused to ride the horse until it was time to go home, then suddenly they became quite brave. They both absolutely loved it. Zac's lovely pink balloon did get caught in a tree however. Lance seemed quite pleased to be rid of the girly balloon.

Zac and Nana watching the Broadway Bound performance.

Zac wrote an adorable essay about the qualities a president should have. To sum it up:
A President should be able to read and write. He should wear a shirt and a tie and if she is a girl she should wear a suit. He should be pretty smart and he should let it be known all across the country that people should listen to their parent and be independent workers.

Sounds pretty right on to me!

OK, I laughed about 20 times with this post, you are so funny! I loved that you feel obligated to let your beds get messed up, that you described the expensive plumbing incident with candor, and the pink balloon made me think of Josh and Damian! Too, too funny! Miss you!

Those BMW's and Lexus' don't make up for the love and sacrifice you give your children. Looks like lots of fun. I'm always looking for a horse ride.
